Waste to Energy Facility Process Pump 90 Modifications

Prime Contractor at the Waste to Energy Facility for Pinellas County Environment and Infrastructure Florida. RTD contract work consisted of retrofit and upgrade of Process 90 pumps with new VFD’s, motor control systems, and associated wiring along with new piping to directly connect existing Ground Storage Tank to piping that feeds the WTE Facility cooling tower sump. Project hi-lights include;

  • Retrofit and install two (2) vertical turbine shaft pumps

  • Install two (2) new variable frequency drives with associated wiring

  • Retrofit existing flowmeter vault and pipe slab

  • Performed modifications of the existing MCC

  • Install new above grade flowmeter assemblies with associated conduit and wire

  • Instrumentation for control of new pumps and updated to control sequences and HMI

  • Dewatering and bypass systems

RTD self-performed 70% of all the work including all formwork, concrete work, process piping and valves installation and pump installation.
